auroras – small paintings, exhibition organized by artist Bruno Dunley and auroras’s founder Ricardo Kugelmas, launchs the space, bringing together 75 works by 26 artists, made in small format between 1983 and 2016. The exhibition was divided in two consecutive parts. The choice of small format reveals an intimate and poetic quality of these artists’s work. The selection of works, made in concert with each artist, reveals a dialogue the takes place in the studio- an articulation of the potential for a work to reflect upon itself, its conditions and possibilities. With works spanning three decades, small paintings offers an analysis of each artist on his own work and the works of other participants, and shows a wide panorama of small format contemporary Brazilian painting.
